Michelle
Giambra,
who is also
a CPA, knows first-hand the importance of maintaining proper balance of
body, mind and spirit for optimum health. Her strong interests in
spirituality and holistic healing methods led her to the study of Jin
Shin Jyutsu. |
First Class
The experience of her first Jin Shin Jyutsu
class is best expressed in her own words:
"First
day of class arrives. I’m very excited. I get to class, look around—–I’m
very scared. “What am I doing?” I had never even had a treatment.
“These people are going to be touching each other, and me! They’re
probably a bunch of fanatics.” Okay, get a grip! I rush to the
bathroom, to try and collect my thoughts. Sitting in the stall, fretting
over what to do, a thought comes to me: “Michelle, everyone is doing
the best that they can with where they’re at. Drop your judgments. Go
to the class.” So, okay, I’ll try this.
"I go
back to the classroom and sit in the back. (In case I need to make a
quick get-away!) The instructor arrives and within the first five
minutes of his presentation, he says, “...everyone is doing the best
that they can with where they are at…” The exact words I “heard”
in the bathroom. I know I’m in the right place!
"What
transpired during the course of the those five days changed my life. By
the end of the class, I was smiling uncontrollably (so much so, that my
face hurt!)s I was (for perhaps the first time in my life) so happy just
to be me! I knew then that Jin Shin Jyutsu would be an integral part of
my life. I continued to study, practice and take classes. In March 1999,
I completed the practitioner-level certification requirements." |
Michelle brings to her practice a sincere desire to promote
balance, harmony, and peace. Her services are enhanced by the depth of
compassion and understanding she has gained through her personal life
experiences and her keen sense of humor! She lives in Akron, Ohio with
her husband and best friend, Bill.
First Encounter with Jin Shin
Jyutsu
Michelle began her professional career as an
accountant with a local utility company, however, her greatest interests were in finding ways to achieve
health and happiness. Then, in February 1998, Michelle attended a one-hour
presentation on Jin Shin Jyutsu. Intrigued, she purchased the recently
published book, “The Touch of Healing.”
Inspired by its philosophy
and fascinated by the simplicity of its application, she “stumbled”
across a poster for an up-coming class in none other than Hudson, Ohio,
a mere half-hour drive from her home.
